Jen Vera is a highly trained Shamanic Priestess, Medicine Woman and Sacred Sexuality Practitioner. Though her studies and lineage may appear esoteric, she’s a deeply pragmatic and practical practitioner. Her philosophy with any spiritual work centers around improving people’s day to day life and EMBODIMENT of the teachings, not just an intellectual understanding of them.
She has studied under High Priestess Kari Caldwell of the Magdalene Rose lineage. Her initiation into plant medicine work occurred at the age of 19 with the Mexica (Aztec) in Chicago.
She defines her spiritual philosophies as “spiritually promiscuous” having studied under various spiritual lineages and teachings including: Buddhism, Yoga, Neo-Tantra and Shamanism.
She’s studied with Dr. Brian T. Lumb and Dr. Chelsea Rae Verslues, creators of Genius Frequency, for 4 years to have a unique understanding of the nervous system and somatics in the body and the role of the emotional body in spiritual and physical wellbeing.
Her most profound learnings have come directly from the Medicine she works with herself and life experiences. She’s highly intuitive and able to express innovative concepts in playful and fun ways.
She’s studied Tantra and Sacred Sexuality with Gaia Ma in Guatemala, International School of Temple Arts (ISTA) where she completed a Practitioner's Training and with The Deer Tribe where she completed her own Shamanic Dearmoring and supported classmates to dearmor utilizing orgasmic energy.
She is currently in training to become a High Priestess of the Isis lineage. She lives in Sedona, Arizona.
My Story
“Your mess becomes your message,” or “The Wounded Healer” are both accurate statements based on my experience.
I didn’t identify as a healer until I hit a massive crisis in my personal life and had to face aspects of myself I’d never even knew existed. I call this season my “Dark Feminine Descent,” a journey into the Underworld.
Through it I reclaimed a sovereignty I’ve never even known. I went deep into childhood trauma, ancestral imprints and old patterns, stories and strategies I’d used to keep myself from my own power, beauty and command.
It was deeply humbling - face to face with shame, grief, victimhood, rage and all of the things I didn’t want to see about myself. Through this portal I emerged with a level of liberation, joy and beauty that continues to unfold as blessings in my life, without bypassing or self abandonment; forging incredible connections with life, people and God and Goddess.
You can say I went from living in my head to living fully in my body and walking through the world with a baseline of peace and presence I never thought possible.
My Philosophy
My work centers around working with polarity: that is the feminine and masculine; the light and dark; the animal and the God/dess; the rage and the ecstasy.
It is through bridging these aspects of self we find an embodied and grounded wholeness that is magnetic, potent and PLEASURABLE.
